This is an excellent family home, real estate
investment, and summer getaway home not too far from New York City and
other prime locations.
There is a roller-skating ring not more than a 3 minute drive / 10 to 15 minute walk from the house.
There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby.
20 minutes drive from the Delaware Water Gap - Beautiful getaway.
10/15 minutes drive from the Lehigh River and Delaware River.
You can also go to the bus stops and get a bus ride to Newark Airport - Any terminal. Its like a 40 to 50 minute bus ride.
There is also a local airport: (Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton - ABE Airport)
There is farmland adjacent to the back yard.
So you are not looking into other peoples yards... but out into a
very open field. Also the property next to the house (in the back)
used to have horses. Looking out the window of the house... it used
to look like we had horses in our back yard. Now it
is a very open space.
There is a garden. There are towering bushes (need no maintenance) next to the pool, beautiful trees, and other landscapes around the home that make it look like a scene from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. There is also a great variety of other interesting green life: such as Bamboo growing in the yard.
There is automatic outdoor lighting.
The foyer is one of my favorite areas... you walk in the front door and there are 6 different ways you can go...
The kitchen is HUGE. It has a futuristic stove (one that you probably haven't seen before). I have not seen another like it.
There is PLENTY of attic space.
I always ask my friends (that come in from New York and New Jersey) that if they had money and wanted to buy the home, what would they offer. I received answers of $500,000 and more. My parents are about to retire (partially) and move south. They would like to sell the home ASAP.
Two full rooms upstairs - (one is huge) that can
easily be converted into bedrooms. My father uses
the big room as a game / book room. It
has a full size pool table in it and two guest beds. My mother uses
the other room as her sewing room. These both have very large closets
and beautiful views of the front and back yard.
There is a 2 Car Garage with an entrance to the basement from the garage.
Also, the full basement has an office space already built in. This is a great escape when you need to do work and get away from the family for a period of time.
Also, the pool is fully fenced in and has next to it concrete poured already for a cabana / changing room / work shop or whatever you want to build - if anything. My family has used it as a stage for pool parties and place to lay out in the sun.
FYI - My father (a former construction company owner - NorthPenn Construction Company) built this / (his dream) house with the help of qualified individuals. So you can be rest assured that it is fully insulated and quality control was adhered to throughout the entire time in the building of this estate. He will show / explain all the details I am sure. (Construction was never my forte')
FYI - There is a catholic High School - Notre Dame High School (5 minutes WALK) from the property. There are plenty of other public schools to choose from, in the area, as well.
FYI - There are plenty of EXCELLENT colleges no more than 15-20 minutes away!!! Just to name a few (in no particular order): Moravian College; Lafayette College; Penn State University - Allentown campus; Lehigh University; Stroughsburg College; and plenty more).
FYI - There are two bus stops that are approximately 10 to 15 minutes from the home (Easton and Bethlehem) that you can catch to get into and out of NYC. In a bus its about 1.5 hours into the city. The bus drops you off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
FYI - Land in this area is selling for $90,000
and up for 1 acre of land. This home and the homes surrounding it (must
see) are considered to be top grade / upper middle class. You get
the land and plenty more with no strings. I lived there and can vouch
for the quality of the home and
surrounding area. Again, this is a steal
and I would prefer that someone I know buys the property, because it has
a lot of sentimental value to me and I would be at more of an advantage
to buy it from a person I know if they plan to ever sell it later in time
(...and by then I should be able to buy
plenty of homes -hehe).
FYI - The neighborhood is SAFE!!! A Pennsylvania
quality which I truly miss sometimes - living in the big apple. My
parents sometimes don't lock the front or back doors... I however have
4 locks (no lie) on my NYC apartment door - hehe.
